What about this for a supplement regime?
Question: from David.
What would the effect be of taking a multiple of your products? Apart from popping pills all day, I thought the following regime looked interesting to me;
Total Balance Men's Premium
Omega 3 / DHA
Neuro-Natural Memory
Male rejuvenator
Viral Protec...
and possibly but not necessarily as a preventative measure Bone-protec, Cholest-Natural and Cardio-Klenz.
Having a family history of late onset diabetes I would look at Dizbet- Eze as well.
While obviously a regime such as this would be quite expensive, would there be any reason to avoid such a path or would dosage be different because some ingredients are used across multiple products?
Answer: from Warren
Here are my thoughts on this regime.
Total Balance Men's Premium at full dose. (7 tabs a day)
Omega 3 DHA Fish oil at 2 or maybe 3 soft gels per day.
Neuro-Natural Memory at half dose - 3 tablets a day.
Male Rejuvenator at half dose - 3 tablets a day.
No need for Viral-Protec as you would be getting enough protection from the TB Premium
Not really any need for Bone-Protec unless you have a proven calcium deficiency given that you will be taking Total Balance. Total Balance will help reduce the risk of calcium leaching from your bones and that is even more important than taking extra calcium, so it should not be necessary.
No need for Cholest-Natural unless you have significantly elevated cholesterol. Even then you would only need to take it for maybe 3 months because as from then on the cholesterol lowering nutrients in Total Balance should keep it in balance.
No need for the Cardio-Klenz unless you are over 40 in which case taking it for 6 months only might be a sensible thing to do as insurance...but I would wait until you have been on the current regime for a few months first. The new Total Balance Premium does contain many heart healthy nutrients which will help clean the arteries, such as Nattokinase.
No need for the Diabet-eze either. A family history of it does not necessarily dispose you to getting it, provided you maintain a sensible diet. Once again there are nutrients in Total Balance that help maintain healthy blood sugar balances etc.
The above adjustments would create a regime very similar to my own. The only difference is that I do take 4 tabs of Cardio-Klenz a day, not because I have any heart issues but as I am 61 I want to ensure that I am doing all I can to keep my arteries in optimal health.
Hope this helps.

Great response, Warren. Thanks for the honesty and forthrightness to recommend less of your products rather than what a customer was willing to take. It's this type of attitude that endears trust and loyalty in me and other customers. Supplement companies are a difficult lot to evaluate, and yours is one of the few that I trust.

That's more pills than I can count, but if it works, fine.

Nevermind, I just read Warren's recommendations. Sorry about that.

Warren, after reading this blog entry, I adjusted my supplement regime as follows:
Total Balance Men's Premium - 7/day
Cardio Klenz - 4/day
Arthrit-Eze - 3/day
GLM-Omega 3 Plus - 3/day
Male Rejuvenator - 3/day
Neuro-Natural Memory - 3/day
I am 61 years old, 5'8" tall and weigh approx. 425 lbs. I take simvastatin for my cholesterol and Lisinopril HCTZ for high blood pressure.
The results from my June, 2008 check-up are as follows:
Cholesterol - 144
LDL - 83
HDL - 38
LDL/HDL ratio - 2.18
Cholesterol/HDL ratio - 3.8
Triglicerides - 115
C-Reactive Protein - 1.97
Homocysteine - 13.8
Hemoglobin A1C - 6.6
PSA - 0.8
Blood Pressure - 138/72
Other than losing approx. 225 lbs, do you have any recommendations for me?
Eric

Hi Eric,
Your figures are quite reasonable apart from your homocysteine which is too high. However, the TB Premium should help that over the next few months. It contains good methylating agents such as SAMe which will help this.
I would question however the need to continue with the statin drug given that your cholesterol levels are OK. They could easily go up and still be OK. Any drug including a statin makes it more difficult to lose weight. I would suggest that you talk to your Doctor about starting a program over 3 months to weane yourself off the statin...cutting back by 1/3rd per month and monitoring progress.
If you can get off this drug it may well help give you better energy to pursue any weight loss objectives. I would also get a quality digital BP monitor to keep a track of your BP and try with a combination of diet and modest exercise to start reducing the dependency on your BP medication as well.
The supplement regime you have I think is perfect. What you also need to really focus on is throwing out anything in the pantry that is in a packet or processed. I know that it is hard but if you can switch the emphasis of your diet to primarily fruits and vegetables and eliminate bakery goods as well and only drink weak tea I think that you would really notice a difference.
Even a small difference in your energy levels will help give you more inclination to do a little exercise. And when you do some exercise you will feel better which in turn will make you more inclined to eat healthier food, etc.
In other words it could start a 'spiral' but upwards in the right direction.
Please keep in touch and let me know how you get on.

Hi Warren,
Thank you for your response. I will follow your advice. I want very much to get off the statin and the BP medication. Your comment about the relationship between the statin drug and my energy level is eye opening. By the time I get home from my job teaching children, I have neither energy nor interest in exercising and exercising before work is not a realistic option, at this time.
I will let you know how I get on.
Thank you for your dedication to providing the best health supplements.

Warren,
I have another question. I love drinking strong coffee in the morning and filtered water throughout the day. What is the rationale for your suggestion to drink only weak tea?
September 15, 2008 | Eric
Hi Eric,
It was really a comment to have something to drink other than soda's which of course a bad for weight and coffee or tea made using milk which is also bad for you.
But, having a cup of strong coffee in the morning is not a problem if you love it. You can't give up all pleasures in life so stick with it. Having water during the day is great but sometimes a change is nice. There are a lot of teas now available with infused flavors if you want a change or a hot drink.
I only just dunk them in the hot water for a few seconds but it still gives a flavor.
