How do you know your Total Balance is true to label?

Question: from Gene

Do you test each batch of Total Balance Premium to confirm that each tablet contains what it says on the label? For example, 100mg chysin. A certificate of analysis, would either confirm or deny that there is 100mg of chysin in 7 tablets.

Answer: from Warren

This is a valid question.

Most companies only do a microbiological test for each batch. We also do that but additionally we do one for heavy metals as well. I do not know of any company who does a full assay on a completed multi-ingredient tablet for each batch. It is just not economically viable unless it is a very simple product. To give you an idea; we have around 85 ingredients in our Total Balance and to do an assay of the batch would cost US$35 000 each time, IF a protocol can be worked out to successfully do this.

This is the price we have had quoted by various laboratories including the NSF who we are working with on our US FDA GMP compliance program. The scientists at NSF have not as yet been able to come up with a protocol to achieve a reliable assay.

The problem is that you have to liquefy some of the ingredients to do the assay.

Misleading health information – again?

Question: from Meliss

Warren what do you think about this..It was sent to me?

“Dear Meliss:

Probiotics are bacteria and enzymes are acids. To be healthy
you need less bacteria and less acid with more alkaline electron
rich foods and drinks.

High blood pressure is caused by increased acidity and a deficiency of
sodium, magnesium and potassium.

pHour salts and pHlavor salts will help.”

Answer: from Warren

I don't know who sent you this but unfortunately it is typical of the uninformed comments and half truths that circulate the health supplement business.

Irresponsible Doctors??

Question: from Emily

I recently went to my dr. and had my bloodwork done. My cholesterol was 237. My triglycerides were 94,my HDL was68,and my LDL was 150.In your opinion do I need to take the 20mg. of lovastatin a day that he has prescribed?

Answer: from Warren

I think that your Doctor has been brainwashed by the drug company reps. It is in my opinion irresponsible to propose you take a statin drug with this figures.

Firstly, high cholesterol is only a danger when it is combined with HIGH triglycerides...yours are not.

Next, your Doc has only looked at your TOTAL cholesterol and seems to have ignored that your HDL is 68.

This is incomprehensible!

Resveratrol...is there sufficient in your Supplements?

Question: from James

For some years I have researched the Internet on health issues and as a result have elected to purchase your products relevant to myself.  However firstly we in the UK do not have the luxury of chopping and changing Doctors ad lib, My own GP in fact insists that I use statins for cholesterol control . and was unaware of the Co- enzyme depletion as a result.

He also precribes Losartan Plus for B.P control ..

However I do take Cardio Klenz and Total Balance Mens Premium together with Dr Sears Accel(coenzyme Q10) and for a man of 72 feel pretty fit.

However my only concern re your products is that whilst they are well researched .is. are the quantity of the ingredients sufficient . \i.e. resveratrol in Cardio Klenz is only 50mg whereas other suppliers offer products containing 300 mg or more ??? this applies to a number of ingredients in TB and CK . I have every confidence in Xtend Life and your ethical approach to general wellbeing and I feel sure that with your approach you would provide products which are have adequate amounts of the various ingredients to provide effective treatment and I would welcome clarification.

Nattokinase...is it any good?

Question: from Al

What is your advice regarding Nattokinase

Answer: from Warren

Nattokinase is a good enzyme and can be very beneficial in helping clean your arteries…provided it is the right sort. There are a number of different forms on the market most of which are not approved by the FDA in the US.

When we researched this ingredient some time ago the only quality form that we could find that was approved by the FDA was called Nattozimes and is produced by the National Enzyme Company in the USA.

We now use this in both our Total Balance Premium and Cardio-Klenz.

Why are some forms of Nattokinase not approved by the FDA?

The simple answer is how they are produced.

What about CoQ10?

Question: from Addie

Hi Warren, what is your opinion on Coq10? What's the best one to buy?

Answer: from Warren

CoQ10 is an essential nutrient and very important for heart health.

It is manufactured by the liver and only a very small amount comes from dietary sources. However, a good diet can help provide the raw ingredients to enable your liver to produce an ample supply.

But, if you are on a statin drug then you must supplement with CoQ10 because the pathway that a statin drug blocks in order to prevent your liver from making so much cholesterol is the same as that used to produce CoQ10.

So, if you use a statin drug your body will produce less than it is using each day and a deficiency will be the result as your body’s reserves of CoQ10 are used up. And that is more serious than elevated cholesterol itself.

Being slowly killed by Prescription Drugs?

Question: from Mary

I recently am dating a wonderful guy but has numerous cardio problems as well as being diabetic type II, He also has a difibulator and is under numerous prescription meds that seem to be doing more harm than good.

He supposedly had 3 heart attacks but doesn't remember having them. Also supposedly a stroke. I believe he was used as a guinea pig for this difibulator as it almost killed him by shorting out 19 times and was never notified of a recall on it. He is 49 yrs old.

He experiences extreme pain in legs, knees, shoulders, feet and has ED. Now he is starting to experience problems with his eyes and headaches. I think these doctors have him on so many drugs his body is trying to fight them. Also fatigue is a factor and some pain in the kidney area. Oh, by the way they did a test on his kidneys a while back and injected him with iodine.

This poor guy has been through hell.

Do Vegetarians get enough Protein?

Question: from Sam

How  are  you?  I  have  a  question  about  protein.  A  vegetarian  diet  does  not  have  enough  protein.  Does  Total  Balance  or  any  of  your  other  products  contain  enough  protein  for  the  whole  body?  Thank you.

Answer: from Warren

This is an issue that is always subject to debate.  Vegetarians will argue that you can get enough protein from vegetables, and indeed many scientists agree with them and would argue that we generally consume too much protein in a normal diet.  On the other hand non vegetarians will argue the opposite.  Although I am not a vegetarian I tend to side with the vegetarians on this issue…subject to certain caveats which I will raise in a moment.

One of these is that vegetarians are often deficient in Vitamin B12 as it is difficult to get enough of this vitamin from plant sources alone.  But even more serious is another deficiency that vegetarians are subject to and in my opinion is a factor in many of them becoming old before their time and also often having health problems even though they appear to eat very healthy.

Intramax from Drukerlabs. Is it good?

Question: from Sasha

Nice  to  hear  from  you.  Thank  you  very  much  for  your  reply.  There  is  only  one  product  in  the  market  I  can  recommend.  The  rest  of  the  products  in  the  market  are  no  match  to  your  products.  The  name  of  the  product  is  Intramax.  It  contains  415  nutrients  in  organic  liquid  form.  They  are  using  a  special  technology.  More  information  can  be  found  at  the  following  web  page:

When  more  nutrients  are  added  to  tablets,  one  has  to  consume  more  tablets.  But  in  liquid  form,  one  ounce  is  enough  for  more  nutrients.  This  is  my  opinion.  What  is  your  opinion?  I  hope  Xtend  Life  comes  out  with  a  more  sophisticated  product  than  Intramax.  Eagerly  waiting  for  your  reply.  Thank  you.

What are the 'break' periods for the new generation of Total Balance?

Question: from Alena

With the previous version of Total Balance Women's Plus I was taking a 'break' of 2 weeks every six months. Does the same principle apply for the new Premium version of Total Balance Women's which I am now on? Why is it really necessary to take this break.

Answer: from Warren

Yes, continue to take the 2 week break with the new Premium version every 6 months. Those customers who are taking the new 'standard' version of Total Balance only need to take the break once a year.

Why do you need to do this?

Well you don't really need to do it but we believe it is a good idea if you do.

If you take a supplement continuously the body will start to get used to it and as time goes on higher doses of nutrients will be needed to get the same effect.
