SunPill. Their advertising is a bit over the top!!

20933475.jpgGiven the discussions that there has been on this blog recently about sunshine and sun screens’ etc I thought that it would be appropriate to bring this to your attention.

SunPill is a product produced by Pure Pharmaceuticals LLC.  They claim that it will help protect the skin from the damaging effects of the sun due to its anti-oxidant effects.

I have no problem with that claim to a certain degree as there is no doubt that a good anti-oxidant over time will help reduce the likelihood of severe sunburn and also protect the underlying skin.  I have commented on this before as both our customers and I have experienced this affect. As I have mentioned before, I get a lot of sun exposure and much of it is quite severe because of the amount of time I spend in the tropics.

However, SunPill are ‘over the top’ when it comes to their claims.  So much so that that the National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureau have taken them to task!  Because of their reluctance to make modifications to their claims the matter is now being referred to the Federal Trade Commission.

Here is a link to the article.

As a point of interest, there does not appear to be anything that would give the protection against the sun in the ‘SunPill’ that we do not already have in our Total Balance!

From what I can ascertain it contains some anti-oxidant vitamins and some herbal extracts but that’s about all.  Unfortunately they don’t reveal much about their ingredients.

It cannot contain a lot as they promote their product on the basis of only taking one tablet per day.

But, I got to hand it to them, they are good marketers.
